A Teaser and Poster for Toho’s ‘Godzilla: Resurgence’

Toho Company Ltd. Movie

Japanese studio Toho has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming giant monster movie. A poster has also been released, giving us our first look at the new Gojira and confirming the films’ official title – Godzilla: Resurgence.

The 29th Godzilla movie is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (Evangelion), who also wrote the script, and Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan) who also oversaw the special effects.

In movie after movie,” Higuchi said, “People merely ran away from the stampeding monster, and no one tried to face up to the issue of accountability.”

Toho will be releasing Godzilla: Resurgence in Japan on July 29th, 2016. No worldwide release dates for the film have yet been announced. Starring Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, and Satomi Ishihara, check out the very short and spoiler-free teaser below.

Hmmm, so shaky. The poster reads, “Nippon versus Godzilla“. Inspiration was certainly taken from the black and white Japanese classic Gojira (1954, alternatively Godzilla, King of the Monsters).

Nippon versus Godzilla

The latest Nippon Gojira will reportedly be the biggest and scariest looking Godzilla yet and he would be destroying cities all over Japan. Looking forward to a full body shot, but if that shaky cam is gonna be in the entire movie, I’m gonna pass.
