Actor Jay Baruchel to Direct GOON Sequel

Sean William Returns For Sequel

THR reports that a sequel to 2011 hockey comedy Goon is finally moving forward, confirming that one of the film’s stars, Jay Baruchel will be helming the project, making his directorial debut with this film.

Sean William Scott is confirmed to reprise his role Doug “The Thug” Glatt for the sequel, now titled Goon: Last of the Enforcers. Baruchel will also co-write the screenplay with Jesse Chabot and reprise his role from the first film as Doug’s best friend Pat.

The original film, directed by Michael Dowse, followed Doug as a bouncer-turned-minor league hockey player with a penchant for fist fighting. A follow-up will enter production this June in Toronto so bring on the hockey fights again with emphasis on heart, of course.
