Adi Shankar Tells Us What It Would Take to Make DREDD 2

Taking a break from making unauthorized bootleg short films, producer Adi Shankar has created a new YouTube video to tell us how the long-awaited Dredd 2 sequel may actually happen.

The Karl Urban-fronted  grimy comic book adaptation remains the one that fans desperately want a sequel for, but Pete Travis’ 2012 film Dredd only managed to rake in $35.6 million worldwide, which is not a good incentive for producers to get a sequel made.

Using his Youtube channel, Dredd executive producer Shankar explains what actually needs to happen for a film to get financed.

Well, he has always stricken me as kind of an entitled d-bag, but I also don’t give a damn what a producer looks or sounds like. I’m one of those people who think Dredd was one of the best and most faithful comic book adaptations ever made, and I wish someone would take a chance on the sequel…….or just do a TV series sequel, like on Netflix or something. That, I think, is better than reboot the franchise with a PG-13 script and market it as a standard superhero film.
