Amber Heard in Talks to Star with Jason Momoa in ‘Aquaman’

Aquaman's Love Interest

According to various outlets, Warner Bros. Pictures has landed Amber Heard to take the female lead in director James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman opposite Jason Momoa.

Heard is reportedly in talks to join DC Extended Universe as Mera, Orin’s flame-haired wife and eventual queen of Atlantis. The character first appeared in 1963’s “Aquaman” #11 and could make its screen debut in Zack Snyder’s Justice League Part One, which is scheduled for November 17, 2017 release. I thought she’d be a better Black Canary. Not bad though.

Aquaman is currently in “dual track development, and is scheduled for release on July 27, 2018 with Justice League Part Two coming to theaters on June 14, 2019. David Leslie Johnson and Kurt Johnstad are concurrently working on separate scripts.

Here’s the official logline:

An icon for over 70 years, Aquaman is the King of the Seven Seas. This reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, is committed to protecting the entire globe.
