According to Deadline, character actor Scoot McNairy (Argo) has joined the cast of director Zack Snyder’s now-filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though his role is being kept under tight wraps for now.

If this rumor is true (“nobody at Warner Bros will confirm it”) he will join Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Holly Hunter possibly playing a U.S. senator. A strong supporting cast includes Man of Steel‘s Amy Adams, Lawrence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

Said reports also suggested that the film could feature appearances by Aquaman and that Game of ThronesJason Momoa could be playing him as well as Cyborg could be brought to life by newcomer Ray Fisher.

It would be lovely to see McNairy take on someone like Nightwing (LR scooper El Mayimbe is insinuating this via Twitter) or someone like The Flash (speculations via SC); Superman’s pal James Bartholomew aka Jimmy Olsen is too obvious.

McNairy currently stars on AMC’s “Halt and Catch Fire.” He recently co-starred in the Liam Neeson – led Non-Stop and can be currently seen playing in The Rover and the Michael Fassbender-led indie Frank. The actor also worked with Affleck on both Argo and David Fincher‘s upcoming Gone Girl.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in theaters May 6, 2016.
