BATMAN Vs SUPERMAN will Open Early In the UK

According to the UK Film Distributor’s Association, Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel sequel, tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman flick is scheduled to release a week earlier in the UK on April 29th, 2016.

Release date in the United Kingdom is a full week ahead of Captain America 3‘s worldwide release date of May 6, 2016, giving Warner Bros. a vital edge over it’s competitor for a game of box office chicken.

The President of Warner Bros. Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman earlier told Bloomberg that the studio has no plans on relinquishing the coveted date:

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date, but there is a lot time between now and 5/6/16. However, at this time, we are not considering a change of date for Batman vs. Superman.”

Although both films share the same release date in the US, this could suggest that Man of Steel 2 may move at a later time should the studio release day-and-date worldwide.

Or maybe, the U.S.  market isn’t viewed with the same importance as it once was?

Marvel’s Captain America 3 cast should carry some of the same star power as Winter Soldier, which features Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.

On the other side, Batman vs. Superman flick will feature Henry Cavill as Superman, and may be boosted by the inclusion of Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
