Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Team Up for a FIFA Scandal Film

FIFA Scandal Film

Ben Affleck may soon produce with Matt Damon Houses of Deceit, a movie about the recent FIFA scandal for Warner Bros.

The studio has reportedly won the bidding war for the rights to the not-yet-written book by BuzzFeed investigative reporter Ken Bensinger. The book is based on Bensinger’s article on Chuck Blazer, a FIFA executive committee member, and his role in the recent corruption scandal involving the FIFA organization and the resignation of FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Warrior helmer Gavin O’Connor, who recently wrapped the Affleck thriller The Accountant for the studio, is attached to direct and will co-write the script with Warrior screenwriter Anthony Tambakis.

No word yet on when Warner Bros. will begin production on Houses of Deceit, but the book is expected to hit bookstores in 2017. Bensinger would reportedly love to see someone like John Goodman to bring “fury and comedy to the role.” Me too.
