Yes, Bill Pullman & Judd Hirsch Both Return for INDEPENDENCE DAY 2!

Roland Emmerich-Directed Sequel

Director Roland Emmerich has confirmed that Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch are returning for Independence Day 2. Whoa, even better than expected!

Pullman played a fearless President Whitmore (being a former fighter pilot) and Hirsh played Julius Levinson, Jeff Goldblum‘s stubbornly Jewish father.

The filmmaker shared the latest casting on Twitter.

Hirsch’s return is a little more surprising because his name hasn’t been around much. I’m pleasantly surprised. Here’s hoping for some extreme Jewyness from him. Judd has more recently been a regular on IFC’s “Maron.”

Additional returning cast members include Brent Spiner and Vivica A. Fox who’ll join newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Travis Tope and Joey King. Unfortunately, the only main cast member not returning is Will Smith.

Usher will play Dylan Dubrow, the grown up son of Fox’s character, while Hemsworth is rumored to be playing Whitmore’s son-in-law.

Independence Day 2 is set to go into production next month ahead of a release on June 24th, 2016 – a week before the actually 20th anniversary of the original film’s release.

Bill Pullman remains the man, just saying.
