BIRDMAN Leads 2015 Golden Globes with Seven Nods

2015 Golden Globe Awards

Not only did Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu‘s Birdman have the most SAG and Independent Spirit Award nominations, but now it’s got the most Golden Globe Nominations  as well. It’s leading the pack with seven total nods, followed by Boyhood and The Imitation Game with five a piece. (Inarritu is a lock to win the Oscar).

In television, Fargo led with five nominations, while True Detective came in right behind with four.

The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Modern Family, Sons of Anarchy and The Big Bang Theory were shut out. Unfortunately, Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany is getting snubbed.

On the film’s side, Unbroken and American Sniper didn’t make this list too. Gone Girl and Interstellar were nominated for Score, but there’s no Christoher Nolan for Director and there’s no nomination for Ben Affleck. I’m glad to see both Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal‘s works are being remembered in this award’s season. And it’s so great that Selma got important accolades.
