‘Black Panther’ Adds Michael B. Jordan to Join the Cast

Black Panther Casting

THR brings word that Creed and Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan has joined Ryan Coogler‘s Black Panther as a potential villain. Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o was in talks for an undisclosed role as of Thursday.

Chadwick Boseman is starring in the film as King T’Challa of Wakanda, reprising his Captain America: Civil War role as this film’s titular hero. Fruitvale Station and Creed helmer Coogler is both writing and directing Marvel’s Black Panther movie, which is set to strike February 2, 2018 and will be the 18th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jordan could be playing Achebe, who is primarily a Black Panther villain. Some other fans think he could be playing White Wolf, T’Challa’s adopted older brother who is the head of Wakanda’s espionage police, while others think he could portray Erik Killmonger, a Wakandan who became consumed with hatred for T’Challa after his family was exiled to the United States. If I had money on it, I’d go with White Wolf.

Whatever the case is, Marvel Studios declined comment on Jordan’s involvement. I hope they can keep signing all these great actors. Man let’s go to Wakanda.
