Brad Pitt’s WORLD WAR Z Sequel Gets a 2017 Release Date

Not under wraps anymore! Brad Pitt returns to his starring role in the sequel to World War Z, set to arrive in theaters June 9th, 2017.

20th Century Fox has also set Fantastic Four 2 for the same date, but I’ll rather believe that F4 sequel is going to happen when it starts shooting.

Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible) is set to direct World War Z 2 (official title TBA) from a script by Steven Knight (Locke). Plot details of Knight’s script have been kept under wraps, but the film will be “starting with a clean slate” according to the screenwriter. A coherent plot would be nice this time around.

The first movie, based on Max Brooks’ beloved zombie book, earned $540 million worldwide back in 2013 and became the highest-grossing film of Pitt’s entire career.
