Brie Larson in Talks to Play Carol Danvers in ‘Captain Marvel’

Oscar-Winner Brie Larson

Room Oscar-winner Brie Larson is in early talks to play Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel in the March 2019 film and those talks are very positive.

One of Marvel’s most popular female superheroes, a Security Chief in the US air force, made her first appearance in 1968’s “Marvel Super-Heroes” #13. She transformed into Captain Marvel following an explosion that involved Kree technology.

The Danvers version of the character will make her big-screen debut in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War – Part I, which is scheduled to hit the big screen May 4, 2018 before Captain Marvel debuts on March 8, 2019.

Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) are penning the script but no director is currently attached to the project.

Brie Larson is too good for this stuff and getting locked into the Marvel universe isn’t what I was thinking. But she will make so much money off this and that is the goal, obviously. Though she’s no stranger to comic book adaptations (she played Envy Adams in Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs the World).
