‘BrightBurn’ First Look: James Gunn’s Superhero Horror Film

Sony’s Superhero Horror Film

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the James Gunn-produced sci-fi superhero film BrightBurn.

A new film from up-and-coming director David Yarovesky stars Elizabeth Banks and David Denman as a rural couple who discover a baby boy and raise him as their own. The child (Jackson A. Dunn) happens to be an alien that crash landed to Earth, similar to Kal-El/Superman, but grows up not be a hero. Instead of becoming a crusader for justice, he proved to be something far more sinister.

BrightBurn—which also stars Meredith Hanger, Matt Jones, Gregory Alan Williams, Jennifer Holland and more, with a script from Brian & Mark Gunn—is set to hit theaters May 24, 2019.
