Casting News: Brad Pitt Goes to AFRICA, Matthew McConaughey is BORN TO RUN, Kevin Spacey Gets NINE LIVES

Africa Born To Run Nine Lives

While Angelina Jolie‘s latest film Unbroken has got a little rough ride, the actress has embarked on her next project as director, titled Africa. The Skydance Productions’ drama is based on the true story of paleontologist Richard Leaky and takes place in Kenya in the 80s as hunters gravely threatened the African elephant population.

Jolie has set her sights on her fourth film and she wants her husband, Brad Pitt to take the lead role of Leaky, according to The Wrap. Somehow I think he’s already got the role. Jolie also plans to star opposite Pitt, Mélanie Laurent and Niels Arestrup. Eric Roth wrote the screenplay. Cinematographer Roger Deakins is also set to reteam with Jolie for the summer production.

Matthew McConaughey can’t seem to put a foot wrong these days. Deadline reports that Interstellar star has scored himself another dramatic gig to his growing resume of serious roles.

McConaughey has signed on for Born to Run, the upcoming movie based on Christopher McDougall‘s book of the same name, about an award-winning journalist who goes on a journey through Mexico and North America “to find out how the blissful Tarahumara Indians honed the ability to run hundreds of miles without rest or injury”.

The big-screen version will feature an adapted screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z).  Get ready to see McConaughey run long and hard.

Finally, the “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey has been confirmed to join the Nine Lives cast in the role of a workaholic businessman who ends up in a pet’s body following a terrible accident. Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) is directing the “high-concept” comedy written by Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin. (Please note that the header image isn’t from the movie). [The Wrap]

Eh, everything sounds pretty boring to be honest.
