‘Terminator 6’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms He’ll Be Back

Talking to ScreenDaily in Cannes, action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that he will star in the new Terminator sequel.

“It is back,” he said, revealing that he had met James Cameron recently and discussed the project. “It is moving forward. [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie.”

R-Rated ‘Hellboy’ Reboot in the Works from Neil Marshall

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola took to his socials to break the news that the R-rated reboot from Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall is now in the works with one-time Cable contender David Harbour taking over the lead role that Ron Perlman filled in Guillermo del Toro’s two previous films.

According to THR, the reboot will be produced by Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for Millennium Films, with Dark Horse Entertainment also producing.

Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien 5’ is Not Happening Says Ridley Scott

The original Alien director Ridley Scott has been asked by French film blog Allocine about Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 movie and he suggests it’s no longer an active project at all.

“I don’t think it will ever see the light of day. There was never a script. Just an idea that evolved from a dozen or so pages. I had to participate as producer, but it didn’t go farther because Fox decided it didn’t want to do it. As far I was concerned, I had already done Prometheus and I was working on Covenant.“

Looks Like David Fincher is Directing ‘World War Z 2’

Variety reports that Paramount indeed convinced David Fincher to direct that goddamn World War Z sequel. Brad Pitt‘s frequent collaborator was first rumored for the gig back in August 2016 and it looks like that is now a step closer to becoming a reality.

Fincher has thrice directed Pitt: in Se7en (1995), Fight Club (1999) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), and their partnership on World War Z 2 should excite many.

Release Dates for ‘Avatar’ Sequels Set, ‘Avatar 2’ to Be Released in 2020

James Cameron and 20th Century Fox have finally set the release dates for the four Avatar sequels, starting on December 18th, 2020, for the first film.

Avatar 3 will open December 17th, 2021, followed by a three-year gap for Avatar 4, set for December 20th, 2024. Avatar 5 will then open on December 19th, 2025…Bet on no new Star Wars films in those dates.

Sony Pictures four-film distribution deal with MGM and Eon Productions to distribute the franchise has expired after the release of Spectre and all of a sudden in the running to obtain James Bond are also Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and the newly launched Annapurna Pictures.
