Warner Bros. hired The Guest and Blair Witch director Adam Wingard to helm Godzilla vs. Kong, according to THR.

The Legendary Entertainment/Warner Bros. joint venture was written by Terry Rossio (the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and a story credit on 1998’s Godzilla) and his team.

Silver Sable/Black Cat Spinoff Movie Gets a Title and Director

Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff film that centers on the characters Silver Sable and the Black Cat has reportedly landed a title and director.

Heat Vision brings word that relative newcomer Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball, Beyond the Lights) will be at the helm and that Thor: Ragnarok scribe Christopher Yost is working on the most recent draft for the film, which will be titled Silver and Black.

Doug Liman Departs DC’s ‘Justice League Dark’

Yeah, the DCEU is in trouble, again. Various outlets were reporting that Doug Liman, the filmmaker behind Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity, has officially dropped out of the Justice League Dark project, which is currently in development at Warner Bros. and DC Films. Let’s hope the well-received Wonder Woman will turn their ship around when it opens next week.

‘Terminator 6’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms He’ll Be Back

Talking to ScreenDaily in Cannes, action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that he will star in the new Terminator sequel.

“It is back,” he said, revealing that he had met James Cameron recently and discussed the project. “It is moving forward. [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie.”

R-Rated ‘Hellboy’ Reboot in the Works from Neil Marshall

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola took to his socials to break the news that the R-rated reboot from Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall is now in the works with one-time Cable contender David Harbour taking over the lead role that Ron Perlman filled in Guillermo del Toro’s two previous films.

According to THR, the reboot will be produced by Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for Millennium Films, with Dark Horse Entertainment also producing.

Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien 5’ is Not Happening Says Ridley Scott

The original Alien director Ridley Scott has been asked by French film blog Allocine about Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 movie and he suggests it’s no longer an active project at all.

“I don’t think it will ever see the light of day. There was never a script. Just an idea that evolved from a dozen or so pages. I had to participate as producer, but it didn’t go farther because Fox decided it didn’t want to do it. As far I was concerned, I had already done Prometheus and I was working on Covenant.“

Looks Like David Fincher is Directing ‘World War Z 2’

Variety reports that Paramount indeed convinced David Fincher to direct that goddamn World War Z sequel. Brad Pitt‘s frequent collaborator was first rumored for the gig back in August 2016 and it looks like that is now a step closer to becoming a reality.

Fincher has thrice directed Pitt: in Se7en (1995), Fight Club (1999) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), and their partnership on World War Z 2 should excite many.
