Chiwetel Ejiofor Eyed for BOND 24 Foe

The Sam Mendes-directed and as-yet-untitled Bond 24 movie is finally set to get underway and Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is in the running to play the next Bond villain.

In addition, Aftonbladet (via Bleeding Cool) reported the news of testing Swedish actresses Ida Engvoll and Disa Östrand (below) for role that could be the next Bond Girl, “a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond.”

Skyfall scribe John Logan also returns to pen the screenplay for the follow-up along with Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Ben Whishaw who all return as James Bond, M, Moneypenny, and Q.

12 Years a Slave and Serenity star Ejiofor who has already met with J.J. Abrams, possibly about Star Wars: Episode VII (though any of Bad Robot projects), would follow in the footsteps of Javier Bardem, the most recent in a long line of 007’s foes (just to mention Mads Mikkelsen, Donald Pleasence and Telly Savalas among the others).

MGM and Sony are planning to kick off production this summer for a November 6, 2015 release. Official plot details are still unknown.
