Chloe Grace Moretz Dropped Out of ‘The Little Mermaid’

Drops Out Of The Little Mermaid

The teen star not only revealed she was dropping out of Universal’s live-action reimagining of The Little Mermaid, but she’s scrapping pretty much every other project she’s currently attached to.

Moretz, who is currently on the festival circuit promoting the indie movie Brain on Fire, told THR, “I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again. I’m realizing that I can slow down.”

This year, the 19-year-old actress starred in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and The Fifth Wave. Her current plans include working on two television shows she’s producing and campaigning for Hillary Clinton.

I was kinda looking forward to seeing her in The Little Mermaid, but you do you girl. Some times you gotta throw the big fish back to get the oyster that has the pearls, and after meeting certain heavyweights like Meryl Streep or other politically active actors, it probably just made her think: I can do better with my roles.
