Chris Pratt Favorite to Play New Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones 5 News

It seems Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm have decided the 71-year old Harrison Ford is now too old to play Indiana Jones again and are eyeing Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt to potentially replace him as the headlining star of the franchise!

Talks are still very much in early stages, but sources told Deadline the actor is studio’s favorite to take over the title role, instead of a sidekick like Shia LaBeouf was in 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The House of Mouse is currently at work on developing a new Indiana Jones movie after buying the distribution rights from Paramount Pictures in 2013.

Remake Lead Rumor

I think the character of Indiana Jones only started existing with Harrison Ford putting on the hat, despite the fact that Indy was originally written for Tom Selleck.

On the other side, Chris Pratt can act and is a cash cow nowadays. They want to keep the continuity, so let’s do this. But a reboot is not necessary. Let the guy be his own person in the same universe. They could have a young actor, and they can continue the franchise, replacing Ford by Pratt at some point.
