Christian Bale Pulls Out of Steve Jobs Biopic

Despite screenwriter Aaron Sorkin confirmed last week that Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in a new biopic about the Apple co-founder, the actor has decided he is not right for the role, so he has has pulled out at the last minute.

A new Jobs search will have to take place after Leonardo DiCaprio, director David Fincher and now Bale, the actor who was going to “crush the role,” passed on the Sorkin’s long-in-the-making project.

Seth Rogen is still in negotiations to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, but no official offer has been made yet. Jessica Chastain is also rumoured to be a nominee for a role.

Danny Boyle is directing the film, based on the best-selling Walter Isaacson biography, which features the Jobs character in every single scene and takes place in real time over three major product launches: The Macintosh 128K, the NeXT and the iPod.

I read the biography that this is based on and I don’t find it at all appealing as a feature length film. If it was a documentary it might be interesting though.
