Christopher Walken, Giancarlo Esposito Join THE JUNGLE BOOK

The already star-studded cast just got better as Disney has added two more top-notch voice talents to its line-up for the live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book.

Academy Award winner Christopher Walken will voice King Louie, the ruler of a troop of monkeys and apes, while Giancarlo Esposito (Emmy nominee for Breaking Bad) will play Akela, the leader of the wolf pack in Jungle Book.

The two iconic actors join the cast that already comprises of Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Golden Globe winner Idris Elba as Shere Khan, and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa. The Jungle Book also marks the debut of newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli, who will be the only only on-screen actor.

Jon Favreau is directing this live-action/animation hybrid pic from a script by Justin Marks.

The film will be released in 3D and is scheduled to premiere October 9, 2015.

Walken’s comedic roles are usually pretty good. I can already hear him singing “The Monkey Song:”

“Now I’m the king of the swingers. Oh, the jungle V.I.P. I reached the top and had to stop. And that’s what bothering me. I want to be a man, man-cub, and stroll right into town.”

Yeah, Walken as King Louie is going to be pure 100% freaking gold!
