Colin Trevorrow Not Returning to Direct JURASSIC WORLD Sequel

Fifth Jurassic Park Installment

The Jurassic World team have embarked on their global press tour, and director Colin Trevorrow has already been discussing a potential sequel to the highly-anticipated dinosaur disaster film.

Early box office projections pretty much guarantees another film, but Trevorrow said during the press conference in Paris that if there is a Jurassic World 2, he won’t be directing it.

“Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie,” Trevorrow told BadTaste.it. “I would be involved in some way, but not as director.”

Honestly, I have to watch the movie before I decide if Trevorrow departure is a good or bad thing. He’d probably sign on as executive producer, like what Steven Spielberg did for Jurassic World. I’m wondering if there is a chance that he could take on a Star Wars movie? Don’t know much about that, but I do know that he’s currently attached to Book of Henry and the gestating Intelligent Life sci-fi.

In the meantime, Jurassic World opens June 12, 2015. The pseudo-reboot takes place 22 years after the original Jurassic Park and introduces Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, the new main character of the franchise. Bryce Dallas Howard co-stars in the film alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, BD Wong, Omar Sy, and Judy Greer.
