Damian Lewis Eyed as Next Bond

Next Bond Predictions

If UK bookies are to be believed, the next James Bond could be the ginger one. The former “Homeland” star Damien Lewis could take over the iconic role from Daniel Craig.

His 007’s stock has risen from an outsider to a favorite (5/2 odds), putting the actor firmly in contention ahead of Idris Elba (11/4 odds), Tom Hardy (7/2 odds), Henry Cavill (4/1 odds) and Michael Fassbender (7/1 odds), according to Paddy Power:

“This is an unprecedented gamble, as for no apparent reason we have seen bets of up to £200 on Damian Lewis being named as the next Bond. This might well be significant,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

The actor has not yet commented on reports but he joked in an interview with The Telegraph in 2013 that Bond’s Scottish heritage outlined in Skyfall has “paved the way perfectly for a red-headed Bond.”

Craig is believed to reprise his role one more time after the upcoming Spectre. The movie is released in theaters on November 6.
