David Goyer Rumored to Be Working on SUPERMAN Prequel Show KRYPTON

Man-Of-Steel-TV-Prequel

Well, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. might be gearing up to deliver yet another show based on one of their iconic heroes. According to the likes of Bleeding Cool, Man of Steel writer David Goyer, is putting together a series called Krypton.

There can be no doubt that we are living in a comic book Renaissance. The outlet doesn’t have any further details on what a new series set on Superman’s homeworld might be, but there’s plenty of material to mine.

It is a world that has not been fully explored yet, especially not before baby Kal-El was loaded into the rocket. If Fox’s Gotham is delving into the early years of Detective Jim Gordon and a young Bruce Wayne, DC Entertainment can also capitalize on the same kind of idea.

Once again, there are a lot of sources and material that could be used into a tv series and most comic book geeks should know. But if it’s as deliriously campy as a Batman-based prequel series then I’m down. Moreover, Goyer’s involvement means I shouldn’t get my hopes up too high. I’m not a big fan of him. Da Vinci’s Demons didn’t impress me at all.

A presige-format miniseries (like True Detective) as a prequel to Man of Steel (which Russel Crowe was interested at one point) might be interesting though.
