Deadpool Drops New IMAX Poster and Promo for the Movie

20th Century Fox

We didn’t say or write anything about Deadpool for a long time. Now, a new IMAX poster and promo have been released to illustrate the benefits of seeing a movie in IMAX so I’d also like to take this opportunity to say something about it.

A brief promo that uses Deadpool’s favorite food chimichangas has dropped days before the new trailer arrives on Christmas Day. Bigger is better, right?

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, the film opens on regular and IMAX screens on February 12, 2016, and stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat, Andre Tricotruex as Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

Deadpool was directed by Tim Miller from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Below, check out the teaser and poster featuring even Stan Lee despite the fact that Deadpool was created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, not Lee.

If February is the month for bad movies, and if Deadpool is even moderately good, guess who will dominate the box office for the next few weeks? I’m just worried the movie can’t balance the line between campy and hokey.

Marvel Comics’ Anti-Hero

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Update: Fox has debuted the first Deadpool TV spot, which you can watch in the player below.

The studio also revealed new Colossus photo earlier today.

I’m so over comic book movies, but this is different and looks cool.

Update:  A jolly guy in a red outfit wishes you a Merry Christmas.  A holiday-themed TV spot contains a handful of new shots.  Watch below.

The following footage premiered on ESPN, and thank God this exhausting Deadpool marketing blitz will finally be over with the arrival of a new trailer on Christmas Day, December 25.

It would be a shame if this movie sucks.
