‘Detroit’ Trailer: Kathryn Bigelow’s Film About the City’s 1967 Riot
Annapurna Pictures has revealed the first trailer and poster for Kathryn Bigelow‘s new movie, Detroit.
Boasting an ensemble cast that includes John Boyega, John Krasinski, Anthony Mackie, Will Poulter and Jacob Latimore, the film is set during the 5-day riots that took place in Detroit in the summer of 1967, focusing specifically on the Algiers Motel incident.
Detroit is set to open on August 4, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the the citizen uprising that left 43 people dead, nearly 1,200 injured, and over 2,000 establishments destroyed. Mark Boal penned the script.
