‘Dope’ Director Rick Famuyiwa to Helm ‘The Flash’ Movie for Warner Bros.

Ezra Miller

Warner Bros. has found a new director to helm The Flash movie after Seth Grahame-Smith departs from the project. The studio has reportedly hired the Dope helmer Rick Famuyiwa to direct the upcoming DC superhero feature-length film starring Ezra Miller as The Fastest Man Alive.

Grahame-Smith wrote the script based on a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie), but he left the project due to creative differences with the studio. WB is still keeping his script that Famuyiwa will now helm.

Yeah, if they’re aiming to lighten the grim tone set by Zack Snyder, they found the right guy to do it. If he brings even a tenth of the unique atmosphere that fueled the 2015 Sundance darling Dope then we could be in for something truly special.

The Flash solo movie hits March 16, 2018.
