Eva Green in Talks for Tim Burton’s MISS PEREGRINE

Eva Green is in talks to play the title character in director Tim Burton’s next movie, an adaptation of the Ranson Riggs novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For star already showed up in Dark Shadows, the last live-action film from Tim Burton and this puts her in a position to be one of Burton’s regular players.

Green would be the first cast member announced, but if she’s locked in, others will be set in short order. Looks like Burton wants to “trade up” from Helena Bonham Carter. Whatever the case may be, Eva  should be in every movie. She’s so green.

Production is expected to begin in February, so don’t be surprised to see some familiar faces soon.

A story that could be up Burton’s alley follows a teenager who must help protect a group of orphans with special powers from creatures out to get them. Miss Peregrine acts as a guardian of the group.

Here’s more info on the novel:

As a kid, Jacob formed a special bond with his grandfather over his bizarre tales and photos of levitating girls and invisible boys. Now at 16, he is reeling from the old man’s unexpected death. Then Jacob is given a mysterious letter that propels him on a journey to the remote Welsh island where his grandfather grew up. There, he finds the children from the photographs–alive and well–despite the islanders’ assertion that all were killed decades ago. As Jacob begins to unravel more about his grandfather’s childhood, he suspects he is being trailed by a monster only he can see.
