Final ‘Mockingjay – Part 2’ Trailer Features the 76th Hunger Games

Hunger Games Jennifer Lawrence

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games,” Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) ominously says in the final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, the final chapter in The Hunger Games series.

Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her fellow rebels take the fight to The Capital, but not everyone’s on the same page when it comes to the revolution of the Mockingjay.

Along with brief shots of some of the most important characters, as well as Gwendoline Christie‘s Commander Lyme and eyeless sewer mutants of some kind, more sharp-eyed viewers may also spot a fleeting shot of Tigris (Eugenie Bondurant), a tattoo-covered woman who resembles a cat and hates President Snow (Donald Sutherland) with almost as much fury as Katniss.

The film is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong. Mockingjay – Part 2 lands in theaters November 20.

Emotional tensions will run higher and the trailer promises to build on the tension inherent in the film’s premise. May be hope yet for this installment. Cue Arrested Development music. Take a look below:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin] and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
