Russian Superhero Film

Check out the first clip from the Russian superhero feature Guardians (aka Zaschitniki) starring Sanzhar Madiev as Khan, the Windman with the efficiency to cut clean through thick fabric, as well as human tissue and bone.

Directed by Armenian-born director Sarik Andreasyan, the film’s heroic characters also include Arsus, the Wildman, played by Russian star Anton Pampushniy, Ler or Landman, played by Sebastian Sisak Grigoryan, and the female superhero Xenia Waterwoman is played by Alina Lanina.

Khan is masterfully skilled with all kinds of knives, and specialized with many kinds of martial arts; Arsus has a form of werebear, with the ability to control how much of his body has been transformed; Ler is armed with all forms of Earth manipulation abilities, which make him an Earthbender; Xenia has the ability to move on water as well as through it, faster than any sea creature.

The Guardians movie is listed as December 2016 for Russia, likely sometime in 2017 for North America.

The first clip is cool looking and gives you a better sense of the film than the first teaser offered. Apparently Russian directors aren’t shooting lazors and using some crazy gadgets. There isn’t much experience in the superhero genre, but Khan still rocks. Loved the music in it too. See it for yourself.

During the Cold War, an organization called “Patriot” created a super-hero squad, which includes members of multiple soviet republics. For years, the heroes had to hide their identities, but in hard times they must show themselves again.
