The first Point Break images come courtesy of Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment. The upcoming redo of Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 film of the same name stars Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) as a young FBI agent Johnny Utah and Edgar Ramirez (Zero Dark Thirty) as the charismatic Bodhi.

Inspired by the classic 1991 hit, starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, Point Break also stars Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer and Delroy Lindo.

Directed by Ericson Core (Invincible) from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer (Salt), the movie opens in 2D and 3D on December 25, 2015.

The synopsis for the film reads as follows,

In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller “Point Break,” a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a string of staggering crimes that kill innocent people and send the world’s economy into a tailspin. Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the callous architects of these inconceivable crimes.

The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by extreme athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling.

That’s what all remakes should be instead of ruining the legacy of the original.
