First Look at the New Flash

Here’s the first image of Grant Gustin in the new  Arrow TV spin-off  series, The Flash!

The Glee star first appeared as Barry Allen in Arrow, where he was later involved in the laboratory accident when a lightning bolt strike caused him to be doused in a strange mixture of chemicals and left him with mysterious speed powers.

Arrow left Gustin’s youthful appearance with the one hell of a dangling cliffhanger and now he’s all geared up to be far more sci-fi than in Arrow, with his speed and all his villains, known only as the superhero The Flash.

The pilot is hoping to premier in the 2014-2015 season on the CW. Flash is directed by Arrow alum David Nutter from a script by Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kriesberg and Geoff Johns.

The Flash new costume, which only reveals the head for now, is the work of three-time Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costume for Arrow. His credits include Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago.

The upcoming show co-stars Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, along with Rick Cosnett, Jesse L. Martin and original Flash star from the 90’s show, John Wesley Shipp.
