First Look at the New Stormtroopers from STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

Website Indie Revolver has published two photos of redesigned Imperial Stormtrooper helmets that it claims to be actual looks for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.

The design of trooper as seen in the first picture below has earned unconfirmed nickname: “Jungle Trooper” because it’s being featured in filming at the tree house set at Pinewood Studios and around various Puzzlewood exteriors. The eye lenses shown in the second picture are completely connected by a black visor piece. It looks closer to the Snowtroopers that appeared on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back (1980), with a bit of the Imperial Guard’s eyepiece added on.

In addition to that, we also have word that Gwendoline Christie is perhaps playing a Stormtrooper Commander hunting down a Stormtrooper deserter rumored to be played by John Boyega. One way or another, I think it’s safe to say Stormtroopers return.

Here’s an additional prop image from the RPF site:

Set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, Star Wars VII continues the story of our favorite band of heroes and introduces new heroes. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars VII is set for release December 18, 2015.
