First Official Photo of ANT-MAN’s Villain Yellowjacket

We haven’t heard about Marvel’s Ant-Man movie in awhile. Today saw the release of the first official live-action image of Corey Stoll as Ant-Man’s villain Yellowjacket, looking cool though. The film’s marketing campaign will rise once Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters later this month.

Yellowjacket is Darren Cross’ evil alter-ego and he definitely has a size advantage on Paul Rudd‘s titular hero. Director Peyton Reed tells EW,

“Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit doesn’t have a single weapon, whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons.”

Well, he definitely has a trick up his sleeve.

“Ant-Man is very fast when he’s small. Also, when he shrinks, he increases his density, so he’s got increased strength,” Reed says.

The fighting scene between these two foes was filmed separately using motion-caption. Check it out below (via EW).

Yeah, that should look pretty nice in live action.

The film is due in theaters on July 17th and also stars Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington, T.I. and John Slattery.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
