Fox Horror has released the first trailer for The Pyramid, a found footage horror flick produced by Alexandre Aja.

An Egyptian-themed horror film is the directorial debut of Aja’s long-time writing partner Gregory Levasseur (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes) from a screenplay written by Daniel Meersand & Nick Simon.

The Pyramid stars Ashley Hinshaw (True Blood), James Buckley (The Inbetweeners), Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story), as well as relative unknowns in the film industry, Christa-Marie Nicola and Amir K.

The film will hit theaters on December 5th, which isn’t generally a good sign for a horror movie. Still looks better than Exists.

Have a look.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The ancient wonders of the world have long cursed explorers who’ve dared to uncover their secrets. But a team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they discover a lost pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert. As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realize they aren’t just trapped; they are being hunted.
