First Trailer and Poster for THE JUDGE, Starring Robert Downey Jr.

“Here’s a first look at #TheJudge. This is the kind of movie I grew up wanting to make. Only took 49 years. Enjoy,”

the Iron Man star left on his Twitter.

It’s no surprise, Robert Downey Jr. not only star in the movie, but he also produced it alongside his wife, Susan Downey. Therefore, RDJ took to favorite social networks to release the first trailer and poster for Wedding Crashers‘ director David Dobkin latest film.

The upcoming family drama boasts an all-star cast and was given a very awards-friendly October 10 release.

Alongside RDJ, the cast includes Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jeremy Strong, Dax Shephard, Billy Bob Thornton, Melissa Leo, Leighton Meester, Ken Howard, Emma Tremblay, Balthazar Getty, David Krumholtz, Sarah Lancaster, Grace Zabriskie and Denis O’Hare.

The Judge meant to be the tense courtroom thriller, but it looks very melodramatic. If it’s PG-13 you can bank on it. The beginning played like a comedy, then felt like a light family drama. The over dramatic music doesn’t help much.

If you haven’t seen it first either on Downey’s Twitter or Facebook accounts, check it out below:

In “The Judge,” Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
