20th Century Fox has debuted the first Assassin’s Creed movie trailer online, backed by Kanye West‘s “I Am a God,” so we should probably watch it.

The Macbeth team, director Justin Kurzel and stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are going to try to whet the appetite of any fan of the Ubisoft’s hit game series. Judging by the first trailer, they’re not far away from success.

Also starring Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, and Ariane Labed, Assassin’s Creed opens December 21st. Check out the first trailer and poster for the upcoming action adventure.

Seems to capture the game pretty well, but that Yeezus song threw me out of it. Music choice aside, this will at the very least be a gorgeously shot film.

Featuring Michael Fassbender

Assassin’s Creed follows a character by the name of Callum Lynch who, through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, is able to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
