First Trailer for Indie Drama ‘Nasty Baby’ Starring Kristen Wiig

Drama Starring Kristen Wiig

Check out the first international trailer for indie drama Nasty Baby, the latest from Chilean writer-director Sebastian Silva (Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus), starring Kristen Wiig and Tunde Adebimpe.

The movie is sort of a misdirected comedy drama about a gay hipster couple, artist Freddy (Silva himself) and Mo (Adebimpe) who reside in Brooklyn and are trying to bring a baby into their life via Freddy’s best friend Polly (Wiig). The role is a nice change of pace for Wiig who has recently been involved in a number of more dramatic roles like The Diary of a Teenage Girl and will be returning to comedy in Ghostbusters, Nasty Baby actually looks like a romantic Sundance dramedy until it’s creepy as all hell.

Also starring Reg E. Cathey, Mark Margolis, and Denis O’Hare, the film premiered at Sundance and will be released on October 23 in the U.S. Watch below.

A gay couple try to have a baby with the help of their best friend, Polly. The trio navigates the idea of creating life while confronted by unexpected harassment from a neighborhood man called The Bishop. As their clashes grow increasingly aggressive, odds are someone is getting hurt.
