First Trailer for PAN with Hugh Jackman and Rooney Mara

WB Fantasy Adventure

In addition to yesterday’s slew of new photos from Joe Wright’s “strange” Pan movie, Warner Bros. has now released the first trailer for the new live-action adaptation of the classic story, albeit from a slightly different angle.

I know everybody is freaking out right now because of the Jurassic World trailer, but this looks like a Baz Luhrmann movie and his visual aesthetic would actually work pretty well for Neverland, so it might pique your interest too.

There’s Hugh Jackman‘s silly pirate Blackbeard, then Rooney Mara as white Tiger Lily went full Johny Depp  and Garrett Hedlum who plays the role of a young Captain Hook just looks as if he’s an Indian Jones protege. Oh, and Cara Delevigne is a mermaid because, why not.

While Steven Spielberg‘s 1991 family film Hook acts as a sequel to J.M. Barrie‘s 1911 novel “Peter and Wendy,” it’s Peter Pan’s origin story.

Enough to pique your interest? For God’s sake please check out the first Pan trailer after the jump.

Opening July 17, 2015, the film stars relative newcomer Levi Miller in the tittle role. The “incredibly weird” fantasy adventure also stars Adeel Akhtar, Jack Charles, Taejoo Na, Nonso Anozie, Kathy Burke, Kurt Egyiawan, Lewis Macdougall, and Leni Zieglmeier.

Amanda Seyfried also stars in this “radical reinvention of the Peter Pan story,” but she doesn’t have her own poster yet. Seyfried plays Pan’s mother Mary.
