First Trailer for ‘The Forest’ Featuring Natalie Dormer

Featuring Natalie Dormer

Gramercy Pictures has released (via MTV) the full first The Forest trailer, featuring “Game of Thrones” and The Hunger Games actress Natalie Dormer.

The upcoming supernatural horror thriller is based on an original idea by David S. Goyer and hits theaters on January 8th, 2016. Yep, that’s the same “suicide forest,” Aokigahara in Japan, which was the subject of Gus Van Sant’s Sea of Trees, starring Matthew McConaughey, but this is the more wacky version and it’s jam-packed with frights.

Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa co-star. Watch the first official trailer for Jason Zada‘s The Forest, starring none other than Margaery Tyrell herself.

Cool story idea. The only worry I have for this whole thing is that it may eventually lead to yet another example of an emerging actor/actress taking on downright strange movies that would result in their stardom fading before its time.

‘The Forest,’ which is set in the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead who prey on anyone who wanders into the forest.
