First Trailer for WHIPLASH, Starring Miles Teller

Sony Classics has revealed the first Whiplash trailer for writer/director Damien Chazelle’s Sundance award-winning drama that is now heading to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Judging from this trailer, Chazelle’s (writer of Grand Piano) feature directorial debut looks fantastic.

Things get rather tense and aggressive when J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller are on screen, which should work well with the heavy jazz percussion throughout.

Also starring Paul Reiser and Melissa Benoistis, Whiplash is all about overcoming the struggles of success and persisting against failure in pursuit of passion.

Andrew Neyman, a young jazz drummer who attends one of the best music schools in the country under the tutelage of the school’s fearsome maestro of jazz named Terence Fletcher struggles to make it as a top jazz drummer.

Enjoy the interactions between these two characters.

The film hits theaters starting October 10th.
