FLASH GORDON Reboot in the Works

The comic strip science fiction hero Flash Gordon is finally making his way back to the big screen, courtesy of Star Trek 3 scribes J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.

Heat Vision learns that movie rights to sci-fi adventure comic strip from Alex Raymond has been bought by Twentieth Century Fox. Just in time for his 80th anniversary!

The title hero, Steven “Flash” Gordon is a handsome athlete and Yale graduate who rockets to the planet Mongo with his faithful companions, Dr. Hans Zarkov and lovely Dale Arden to put a stop to the evil ruler, Ming the Merciless.

The Adjustment Bureau writer/director George Nolfi penned an outline of the reboot and is now on board as producer.

New Flash Gordon movie will have over three decades distancing itself from the 1980 film, only other big screen outing starring Sam J. Jones and Timothy Dalton.

The new version will reportedly go right back to the original Raymond comic strips and sidesteps any association with the 1980 movie, and even the serials in the 1940s, starring Buster Crabbe.

Who would you want to see directing and starring in a new movie?
