Forest Whitaker and Three More Join ‘Black Panther’ Cast

Forthcoming Black Panther Movie

The Rogue One star is the latest high-profile actor to sign on to Ryan Coogler’s forthcoming Black Panther movie. Forest Whitaker has been cast as Zuri, an elder stateman in the Wakandan government, who served Black Panther and his father, T’Challa, before him.

Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba are also signed on for Marvel’s superhero film starring Chadwick Boseman as the titular Wakandan prince.

Kaluuya (Get Out) is playing T’Challa’s confidant W’Kabi, and Duke (Person of Interest) is set to play M’Baku, leader of a rival tribe in Wakanda. Finally, Kasumba will be reprising her Captain America: Civil War role as Ayo, T’Challa’s head of security.

They’re joining a cast which already includes Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia and Danai Gurira as Okoye, members of the fierce Dora Milaje. Black Panther will be released in theaters on February 16th, 2018.
