Four New Villains Rumored for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Coming hot on the heels of the first image of Henry Cavill as Superman in Batman v  Superman: Dawn of Justice is another piece of news of four new villainous characters joining the party for the 4th of July holiday weekend.

According to LR, a collection of secondary baddies could be in the mix for Batman v Superman.

The first villain is Victor Zsasz, described as

A serial killer Batman fights early on in Gotham City. He usually kills with just a knife and carves a tally mark somewhere on himself for every victim.

The second is a Superman villain Morgan Edge:

a media mogul and personality who owns the Galaxy Communications company, a competitor to the Daily Planet. His organization’s connections to Intergang have made him a direct servant of the evil Darkseid on Earth. This position has made him an antagonist to Superman and an ally to his alter ego Clark Kent. According to LR, the character will appear early on, verbally sparring with Lois Lane on TV. They think this is the role Scoot McNairy has bagged, instead of the largely rumored Nightwing/Dick Grayson.

David Cain is the third bad guy:

one of the world’s premier assassins, whose victims have included some of the most famous and powerful people on the planet. He trained the young Bruce Wayne with some of the skills that he would use as Batman, although Bruce has never used such techniques and has since surpassed Cain in ability. The word here is that he will be working with Luthor’s bodyguards to set up an assassination.

The heaviest hitter among the new characters is Amanda “The Wall” Waller:

a hardline top-ranking U.S. Government agent involved in clandestine operations. Despite her non-threatening physical appearance, she is almost universally feared as one of the most ruthless women in espionage and politics. She created and runs the Suicide Squad, a team of super-villains running missions for the government in exchange for reduced prison sentences; she has also been involved with Agency, Checkmate, the Shadow Fighters, and once led the Secret Six as Mockingbird. She see Superman as a threat and looks to do something about it.

These are all rumors, of course, but if these side characters do show up, more villains means more action and less character development. Moreover, the rumor of Supes’ requisite arch-nemesis,Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) being in a gang may have been true.

Zack Snyder‘s upcoming film also includes heroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) as well as Bats’ requisite butler Alfred (Jeremy Irons), Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, plus unnamed characters played by Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, and Scoot McNairy.

Dawn of Justice opens May 6, 2016.
