Full-Length Trailer for THE GAMBLER, Starring Mark Wahlberg

Following F-bomb-filled teaser for Rupert Wyatt’s remake The Gambler, Paramount Pictures has debuted the film’s first full-length trailer.

The film stars a slimmed-down Mark Wahlberg as a gambling addicted, college professor who bets it all when he borrows from a gangster (Michael Kenneth Williams) and offers his own life as collateral.

The movie looks very good, John Goodman is bald, Brie Larson looks great, and Marky Mark is giving a hell of a performance.

The film, which Paramount has given a last-minute, awards season qualifying release on December 19th also stars Jessica Lange, Stephen Levinson, Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff, David Winkler, Alvin Ing and Richard Schiff.

The trailer gives off a very heavy Martin Scorsese vibe, not only because of The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter,” but also Scorcese was once attached to the project as well as Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Gambler is a remake of Karel Reisz’ 1974 thriller starring James Caan, Paul Sorvino and Lauren Hutton. The Departed scribe William Monahan borrowed liberally from James Toback’s original script.
