Channing Tatum’s GAMBIT and Michael Fassbender‘s ASSASSIN’S CREED Get Release Dates

X-Men Spinoff Solo Movie

Hot on the heels of the announcement that 20th Century had broken the global box office record with the studio’s films taking in $5.5 billion in 2014, the ticker tape now reads: Fox kicked off the new year by dating a slew of movies for 2016 and 2017, including Channing Tatum’s X-Men spinoff Gambit, the comedy Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates from Funny or Die director Jake Szymanski, Michael Fassbender‘s Assassin’s Creed, the Hugh Jackman-starring musical The Greatest Showman on Earth and The Mountain Between Us, which stars Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike, as well as those for a sequel to the Fantastic Four reboot and the next Planet of the Apes project.

Here are the dates from tonight’s haul:

July 29, 2016 – Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates
October 7, 2016 – Gambit
December 21, 2016 – Assassin’s Creed
December 25, 2016 – The Greatest Showman on Earth
February 10, 2017 – The Mountain Between Us
June 2, 2017 – Fantastic Four 2
July 14, 2017 – Untitled Planet of the Apes Sequel

The studio decided to remove the big screen adaptation of the hit video game Assassin’s Creed from its original date, giving the slot to Fantastic Four instead, which has been moved from its previous July 14, 2017, while Matt Reeve‘s Planet of the Apes has been scheduled into its old release date. Uh…confusing.

I have no idea what Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates is, but Gambit should be cool I suppose so Channing better get in outstanding, Magic Mike shape!
