GOD’S POCKET First Trailer

Following the first trailer for A Most Wanted Man, the first trailer for John Slattery‘s God’s Pocket has arrived featuring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his three final performances.

The dark comedy premiered earlier this year at Sundance Film Festival , which tragically served as one of the last major public appearances for Hoffman.

In the vein of the Coen Brothers films, God’s Pocket also includes Christina Hendricks as Hoffman’s wife along with John Turturro, Richard Jenkins, and Eddie Marsan.

Mad Men‘s Slattery also co-wrote the script with Peter Dexter and Alex Metcalf.

IFC Films releases God’s Pocket on May 9th.

Check out the first trailer below.

Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christina Hendricks star in this deliciously twisted comedy directed by Mad Men’s John Slattery. When Mickey’s (Hoffman) crazy stepson Leon is killed in a construction “accident,” nobody in the working class neighborhood of God’s Pocket is sorry he’s gone. Mickey tries to bury the bad news with the body, but when the boy’s mother demands the truth, Mickey finds himself stuck in a life-and-death struggle between a body he can’t bury, a wife he can’t please and a debt he can’t pay.
