GODZILLA Gets Up Close and Personal

Gareth EdwardsGodzilla will take the box office by storm on May 16. The upcoming reboot looks pretty good to analysts.

An early tracking for the second Godzilla film to be fully filmed by an U.S. studio “shows it at $60 million in domestic gross in its opening window, with more optimistic observers tracking it as $70 million. Its long-term foreign box office performance is expected to be even better than its domestic performance, with $500-$600 million expected overseas. And apparently, that foreign gross does not include Japan, which is opening two months later, or China, which has no scheduled opening yet.”

A co-production of Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Lieutenant Ford Brody, Bryan Cranston as Joseph “Joe” Brody, a nuclear physicist and Ford’s father, Ken Watanabe as Daisuke Serizawa, Juliette Binoche as Sandra Brody, Joe’s wife and Ford’s mother, David Strathairn as Adm. Stenz, Richard T. Jones as “The Colonel”, a mysterious military figure, Victor Rasuk as Major Tre Morales, Sally Hawkins as Dr. Wates, CJ Adams as Ford’s brother, Jared Keeso as Jump Master, Patrick Sabongui as Master Sergeant Marcus Waltz, Al Sapienza as Huddleston, Brian Markinson as Whalen, Carson Bolde as Sam Brody, Ford and Elle’s son, Jake Cunanan as Akio, Warren Takeuchi as Akio’s father and Yuki Morita as Akio’s mother.
