HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS Trailer Features Simon Pegg

Hector-Pegg-Pike

Simon Pegg continues in the vein of Ben Stiller‘s Walter Mitty. His new character Hector goes on a globe-trotting journey to find the secret to happiness in new Hector and the Search for Happiness trailer.

Directed by Peter Chelsom, the romantic comedy features an all-star supporting cast with the likes of Rosamund Pike (Pegg’s co-star from The World’s End), Toni Collette, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, Jean Reno and Veronica Ferres.

Edgar Wright‘s frequent collaborator portrays an eccentric London psychiatrist in crisis who goes on a journey to figure out what’s wrong with himself before he can help others. No doubt the Star Trek franchise regular looks like he’s having a grand time in some of this footage.

The uplifting story is based on the book of the same name by François Lelord and will be released in the U.K. theaters on August 15 following its September 19th release in the U.S.

Pegg plays Hector, an eccentric yet irresistible London psychiatrist in crisis: his patients are just not getting any happier! He’s going nowhere. Then one day, armed with buckets of courage and an almost child-like curiosity, Hector breaks out of his sheltered vacuum of a life into a global quest to find out if happiness exists. More importantly, if it exists for Hector. And so begins a colorful, exotic, dangerous and hysterical journey.
