Here’s the First, Action-Packed Trailer for ‘Ben-Hur’

Starring Jack Huston

We didn’t have to wait too long for Paramount Pictures to release the first trailer for Ben-Hur, the remake of the Charlton Heston-led Oscar-winning classic.

Directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted), the film stars Jack Huston (Ben-Hur), Toby Kebbell (Messala), Morgan Freeman (Ilderim), Rodrigo Santoro (Jesus), Nazanin Boniadi (Esther), Pilou Asbaek (Pontius Pilate), along with Ayelet Zorer and Sofia Black-D’Elia, among others. Ben-Hur opens in theaters on August 12th.

Well, I must admit, I’m a lil’ disappointed… this looks like a bunch of CGI with a really terrible score that doesn’t fit the material. I’m not feeling this at all. See for yourself the action-packed trailer below.

I just hope they don’t go too 300 Ben-Hur is not 300.

Starring Jack Huston

BEN-HUR is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Also starring Morgan Freeman and Rodrigo Santoro.
