Hugh Jackman Teases Last Wolverine Movie

Claw Wielding Mutant

The age of Wolverine has come to an end, we just haven’t realized it. Hugh Jackman posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “Wolverine… One Last Time.”

It remains unknown whether the statement is in regards to X-Men: Apocalypse or the sequel to The Wolverine, but it suggests Jackman is finished with the iconic claw-wielding mutant following his next appearance. I think this just means his last solo Wolverine movie.

It’s certainly not what fans of Fox’s wildly successful X-Men franchise want. The Australian actor has played the character a record seven times over the course of 14 years. But then again, all good things must come to an end.

David James Kelly is currently writing the script for Wolverine 3, which according to Patrick Stewart could involve a team-up between Charles Xavier and Logan. The still untitled third Wolverine solo movie is set for a release on March 3, 2017 with James Mangold directing once again.

Meanwhile, X-Men: Apocalypse is due in theaters next year from Bryan Singer.
